Harrison,Legal gold futures platform Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, stated on Monday that the Democratic Party would determine its presidential candidate by August 7th and promised an "open and fair" nomination process.
Earlier that day, Vice President Kamala Harris quickly solidified her presidential campaign support by securing commitments from hundreds of convention delegates.
According to four informed sources, Harris's campaign team plans to complete the presidential nomination by Wednesday, ensuring the majority support of nearly 4,000 convention delegates to win the nomination.
Although President Biden supports Harris as his successor, he cannot force the delegates to follow his wishes. Securing delegate support is crucial for ensuring Harris faces Republican Donald Trump as the Democratic candidate in the November 5th election.
"I assure you, we are committed to an open and fair nomination process," Harrison, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, told reporters on a conference call.
"The work ahead may be unprecedented, but we are prepared to proceed in a transparent, swift, and orderly manner to ensure Democratic unity."
Moore, Chairman of the 2024 Democratic National Convention, stated that a virtual nomination process would still be required before the events in Chicago from August 19th to 22nd.
"Our nomination process still requires a virtual component, and that hasn't changed," she said, adding that an electronic voting system would be used to ensure timely completion.
The Democratic National Committee earlier stated that virtual voting would take place between August 1st and 5th to complete the nomination process by August 7th, the deadline set by Ohio law, for the candidate to appear on the state ballot.
