rose by 10.231 million barrels, against expectations for a draw of 3.595M barrels, the EIA said in its Weekly Petroleum Status Report for the week ended Dec. 9.

inventories also rose more than expected, by 4.496M barrels, versus a forecast build of 2.714M barrels. 

stockpiles, meanwhile, rose by 1.364M barrels last week, compared with expectations for a build of 2.517M barrels.
