The Under what circumstances can buying straddle combination make a profitFinancial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) warns the public against the activities of AB Investment, a company that offers investment services to the public in Belgium.
AB Investment offers consumers investments in binary options, futures, or options that they promise will bring substantial profits.
The websites it uses are as follows:
- ab-investment-acces.net
- ab-investment.net
- https://cbcgroup-lu.com/login
In many cases, consumers are contacted by a person calling himself Paul Willems (paul.willems@ab-investment.net or paul.willems@cbcgroup-lu.net).
These companies and this person do not have the authorization necessary to offer investment services in Belgium. On 22 July 2022, AB Investment was the subject of a warning published by the CSSF (the Luxembourg supervisory authority).
This firm has also misused the name of the Luxembourg company named AB Investment S.A.
The FSMA thus strongly advises against responding to any offers made by AB Investment and against transferring money to any account number that the company might mention.
***For more recommendations aimed at avoiding investment fraud, the FSMA invites investors to consult the 'How to recognize and avoid fraud?' page on its website. Also, watch the awareness campaign videos (available in French or Dutch only).
We also urge investors always to check that the company in question has the requisite authorization. A simple search via the search function on the FSMA website is all you need. You can also contact the FSMA directly via the consumer contact form.
