-- U.S. oil stockpiles fell by less than expected in the latest week, the Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday.
Crude inventories declined by 240,000 barrels last week, compared with analysts' expectations for a draw of 1.705 million barrels.
Distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, rose 2.734 million barrels in the week against expectations for a build of 1.571 million barrels, the EIA data showed.
Gasoline inventories rose 3.882 million barrels last week, the EIA said, compared with expectations for a build of 1.798 million barrels.
