The situation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict has once again become tense. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on the morning of the 25th that from midnight until 7 a.m., Russian air defense systems intercepted or shot down a total of 110 drones launched by Ukraine in multiple regions, including the Moscow region and the Kursk region. As a result of these disturbances, several Moscow airports temporarily restricted takeoffs and landings, including Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, Vnukovo, and Sheremetyevo airports. Air traffic was briefly interrupted.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian authorities reported that in the early hours of the day, Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine, causing significant casualties and property damage. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine stated that at least 12 people have been killed and many others injured, with damage to civilian buildings in multiple areas.
According to preliminary statistics, in Khmelnytskyi region, 4 people were killed, 5 injured, 6 private houses completely destroyed, and more than 20 buildings damaged. In Zhytomyr region, 3 children tragically died, and another 10 people were injured. In the city of Mykolaiv, 1 person was also killed.
The attack occurred in the early morning, catching many civilians off guard. Ukrainian authorities condemned the Russian side for escalating attacks on civilian facilities and residential areas, arguing that this further endangers the safety and humanitarian conditions of innocent civilians.
Despite Russia's emphasis on intercepting a large number of drones, the severe impact on multiple regions in Ukraine indicates that the current conflict has entered a stage of high-intensity confrontation, with the scope of hostilities further expanding. The international community continues to watch the developments closely and expresses concern over the civilian casualties. It is feared that the Russia-Ukraine situation will remain highly tense in the short term.
