According to a January 27 report from Korean media,FXCM official website South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, detained on suspicion of leading an "insurrection conspiracy," will spend the Lunar New Year holiday in detention. The Seoul Detention Center stated that Yoon Suk-yeol will not receive special treatment during the Spring Festival and will have the same arrangements as other detainees.
The Seoul Detention Center revealed that during the Lunar New Year holiday (January 27 to 30), detainees can watch four channels through the prison's TV, including KBS1, MBC, SBS, and EBS. These programs are the only entertainment content available during the festival, with no special movie screenings planned.
Additionally, the detention center clearly stated it would not provide Yoon Suk-yeol with any special meals. According to the menu, breakfast on New Year's Day (29th) will include rice cake soup and kimchi, traditional Korean New Year foods. Lunch will feature Cheonggukjang (traditional Korean soybean paste stew), tofu, and kimchi, while dinner will include bean sprout soup, grilled meat, and kimchi.
The detention center also allows detainees one outdoor activity per day during the Lunar New Year holiday, not exceeding one hour each time. This is a rare opportunity for Yoon Suk-yeol to engage in activities during the holiday.
Currently, Yoon Suk-yeol is in detention due to allegations related to the "insurrection conspiracy" case. This Lunar New Year will be the first major holiday he spends in detention.
