All that glitters is fca supervisionnot gold. Nowhere is this saying truer than with Facebook Ads. Beautiful and attractive fake advertisements that lead to scam Ecommerce sites are easily the number one channel that get consumers scammed online.
So, what is a Scam Ad on Facebook? It is an ad that:
- Is selling inferior quality products while advertising superior quality items.
- Is not at all what it claims to sell.
- Has none of the products which they have put on the ad. If you pay, nothing will be delivered. You’ll simply lose money.
- Directs you to a phishing site to steal your personal information.
- Sells something completely different from what is advertised. The ad was to get your attention to click.

Thankfully, Facebook is doing what it can to remove fake Ads that are reported by consumers. The site has directions for reporting Scam Ads which are pretty straight forward as shown below:
"If you believe that an ad on Facebook violates our Advertising Policies, you can report it. To report an ad that you see on Facebook:
- Click next to the ad that you want to report
- Click Report adand then follow the on-screen instructions.
Reports like these help improve the integrity and relevance of advertising on Facebook, and may result in another review of the ad by our ad review systems."
Reporting a Scam Facebook Ad
Let’s walk through the actual process of reporting an Ad you find to be suspicious or are sure is a scam. Here is what you will see:
1. Click on the *** button on the right side of the scam Ad. Then, select “report ad”.
2. On the box appears, select the top option: “Misleading or scam”

3. There you go! It’s done.
