FTI Used for Protecting Japanese Children

The Is the international foreign exchange platform formalMinistry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology launched the "GIGA School Program" to digitize education in Japan. It has nearly 13 million primary and secondary school students in about 35,000 schools. The program aims to ensure that each child has a computer, high-speed internet, and educators who have the techniques to teach how to master digital tools needed for learning online.

Pipeline was invited to develop an Internet filter and monitoring tool to make sure that children remain safe while surfing the Internet. The company developed Kotto, an Internet DNS tool that was released on Children's Day (May 5, 2021). In addition to Spamhouse malware and phishing data, it also added FTI’s data feed that prevents children from falling for scams.

Alan Watanabe, CEO of Pipeline explains: “We wanted to offer a solution that not only filters content unsuitable for children but also protects them from malware, phishing and online scams. FTI proves to be an excellent resource for this.”

Others are focused on credit card and PayPal details of parents by selling skins or other virtual assets. We are extremely glad that our data is used as part of Pipeline’s solution to protect children.”

Originally, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology targeted fully implementing the GIGA School program by the end of March 2024. Due to the Corona epidemic, the program has been accelerated and is expected to be completed at the end of this year.
