According to foreign media reports,Download Hehe Futures app four diplomats revealed on Monday that Iran has proposed to meet with European parties to the 2015 nuclear agreement before resuming talks with the United States. Iran hopes to meet with the UK, France, and Germany (known as E3) in Rome this Friday to discuss issues related to the nuclear agreement. However, the European parties have not yet formally responded to this proposal.
Omani officials stated that a new round of talks between the US and Iran might be held in Europe on May 3, but no formal decision has been made yet. Iran's proposal to the E3 indicates Tehran's desire to assess the European position before resuming negotiations, particularly regarding the possible re-imposition of UN sanctions. The UN sanctions on Iran are set to expire this October, at which time the resolutions approving the 2015 nuclear agreement will also face reassessment.
Two E3 diplomats and a western diplomat suggested that the proposal was made by Iran after discussions with the U.S. last Saturday, and Iran hopes to hold a meeting in Rome this Friday. If Rome is not feasible as a meeting place, Iran has indicated a willingness to consider discussions in Tehran before this date.
This proposal highlights Iran's stance of retaining options before resuming nuclear agreement talks, while also reflecting Tehran's desire to ensure European policies in the coming months, especially regarding UN sanctions. With the expiration of the resolutions related to the 2015 nuclear agreement approaching, discussions between Iran and European parties could significantly impact future international diplomatic dynamics.
